2005 Hatteras 60 Convertible

Miami Beach, Florida

$1,295,000

Here is a thoroughly updated 60' Hatteras sportfish with fully serviced CAT 1650hp C-32s.  This vessel is owned by a Hatteras enthusiast who twenty years previously purchased a new 60' Convertible which he enjoyed and years later returned to the market to purchase the best 60C of similar vintage available then proceeded to renovate it to exceptional standards.  This boat had paint work done at Merritt Boat and Engine Works in 2021 and has a Pipewelders tuna tower with center ladder.  It has a cherry high-gloss interior with two double berth staterooms and a 3rd guest stateroom.  An extensive, complete renovation of the interior included all new headliners, lighting, wall coverings, Amtico teak and holly flooring, rebuilt salon settee, new salon table and ottoman, updated Air-conditioning and ductwork, all new mattresses, headboards and railing, bedding, and carpeting, new washer and dryer, new TVs and Audio equipment, and more.  The detail of this refit is remarkable and although much is covered in the following spec, a personal showing is highly suggested.

The flybridge was thoroughly updated with the latest Furuno electronics package (three 19-inch TZ3 displays, a 12-inch in cockpit and 9-inch in tower) including 25kW Doppler radar in '23, two amazing Furuno black box depth sounders, new ICOM radios, Maretron system monitoring, 8 cameras, and spotlight.  Also, all new Bentley stitched cushions, PR Canvas SeaCrylic enclosure, 2 new Release teak helm chairs, new color CAT engine data display, Faux-teaked helm pod, new Stainless helm wheel, teak-appearance synthetic FlexiTeek deck flooring, newest Fusion stereo and JL audio speaker system.  There is a bow thruster, the triple-spreader Pipewelder outriggers and center rigger were reconditioned, an emergency life raft was added on the hardtop, a Bentley stitched bunny pad with raising backrests and handrails was added to the foredeck.  The tower station got blackout pipe refinishing, FlexiTeek decking, and new seat and bellyband cushions, new Edson helm wheel and CAT engine control.

Cockpit has extensive livewell plumbing with a transom box/well, FlexiTeak decking, electric reel plugs beneath gunwales, Teak rocket-launcher with tray, drawer, and drink holders.  There is also an Eskimo crushed ice bin, large cockpit freezer with new Frigibar unit, and a clean engine room with 2 Gens in sound shields.  She is just out of the boatyard in March 2024 with a fresh bottom and Propspeed - ready to roll and turn-key.

If you are looking for something special in one of the best hulls Hatteras produced with the preferred CAT power package this is one that deserves a look over.

In spite of dramatic upgrading of this vessel since 2022, upon coming on the market there have been two notable price improvements which are an indication of a sincere seller.

OVERVIEW AND WALKTHROUGH

This 60’ Hatteras has gloss cherry interior woodwork with a customized three stateroom layout featuring an enlarged athwartships master stateroom and a centerline queen berth VIP stateroom forward, plus an upper/lower twin berth guest stateroom.  The master and VIP staterooms have an ensuite head, the guest head has a companionway door to also provide easy daytime use.  Additionally on the companionway there is a laundry closet with set of new Samsung washer and dryer.  New Amtico laminated teak and holly flooring is throughout the salon, galley, companionway, and in all three heads.  New carpeting is in the staterooms.  All areas of this boat have been evaluated and generously updated – there is more done than can be properly documented,  This is not your average 20 year old Hatteras!

Over the course of 2 years starting in 2021, virtually every soft surface of this interior has been renewed.  All the headliners were replaced and a new lighting system was installed with LEDs.  The air-conditioning has been updated with new duct work plus several new air-handlers with ionizing purifiers.  All new vinyl wall covering, rebuilt salon settee, new salon window treatments and area rug, new bedding and mattresses, a completely updated A/V system, and much more.

The focus of this project was to make a reliable and comfortable fishing machine.  The flybridge got a complete update starting with all the newest available Furuno Electronics, a new PR Canvas SeaCrylic enclosure, and all new Bentley stitched bridge and chair cushions.  Laminate teak Flexiteek decking was added and the helm pod was Faux Teak painted accented by a new polished stainless custom helm wheel.  Also new CAT engine controls, chrome single levers at the pod, and a new color CAT engine data display in the overhead dropdown box.  A top-notch CAT tech was engaged to go over the 1650hp C-32s and give them a solid dose of preventative maintenance.  The boat runs smooth and fast, easily capable of 30+ knot cruise with a top end in the 36 knot range.  VENTURA has excellent sea handling capabilities, as the 60 Hatt is well known for.

Back to the fishing topic, there is a full Pipewelders tower with center ladder and the full functioning tower station has been blacked out from the belly band and seat up to the hardtop to reduce glare.  A networked Furuno screen and Simrad pilot remote are with the black Edson helm wheel and CAT control binnacle.  The Rupp triple spreader outriggers and center rigger have been totally reconditioned.  A new emergency cannister raft has been mounted on the bridge hardtop.

On the cockpit deck FlexiTeek keeps the maintenance reasonable.  A transom livewell is part of a complete livebait system with pump box and dual inlet pumps.  A curved 4-inch stanchion has an International teak 6-rod rocket launcher with drink holders, rigging tray, and drawer.  Bentley stitched coaming pads.  There is a large underdeck fishbox, under gunwale are electric reel plugs, and in the side cockpit haunch is a networked Furuno 12-inch display and above a Fusion stereo remote.  Back at the tackle center you’ve got an Eskimo ice dump storage compartment, a refrigerated drink box beneath the salon door step, and a large freezer compartment with a rigging sink and tackle drawers on the other side of the engine room entryway.  There is also a walk-through transom door and 5 underwater lights, 3 aft and 2 downfacing.  For dockside days there are poles that fit in the aft rod holders to put up a canvas cockpit shade.  Also, for more casual days there is a new sunlounge on the foredeck with Bentley stitched cushion and raising backrests with white powder coated safety hand railings to the sides.

SALON

The salon is entered from the cockpit up two teak decked steps to a hinged outward opening door with large oval glass window.  First striking impression is the attractive cherry woodwork further accentuated by the Amtico teak and holly sole.  A new headliner with custom LED lighting is bright and clean.  The galley is forward with light colored engineered stone countertop and a L-shaped dinette is across from it to the starboard side with cherrywood inlayed table.  Just aft of the dinette is a new Samsung smart TV flush mounted into the cabinetry.  Next aft is a small bar cabinet and immediately inside the salon door a cabinet with a new drink ice-cube machine.

The portside has a large L-shape leatherette sofa which was completely renewed with comfortably pitched, tufted backrest and firm base cushions.  It is light neutral colored and accented by décor pillows and throws with storage beneath the cushions.  A custom teak cocktail table with inlayed wood which matches the flooring is in front of the settee.  A blue designer area rug with marine theme warms this section plus there is another blue nautical rug by the salon entryway.  There is also a coordinated blue upholstered ottoman with hinged top cushion and storage inside which can be an extra seat if needed.  The attention to detail in this Hatteras interior is something rarely seen on brokerage sportfishing boats.  The following list of items is either new or updated within the past few years.
